Using the Creative Curriculum Assessment, each child receives two developmental assessments each year. The first is usually within six weeks of enrollment and the second approximately six months later. The Creative Curriculum Assessment is designed to do the following: identify the child’s strengths and weaknesses, result in individual goals being set for each child, and impact lesson plans/curriculum. In addition, documentation maintained in each child’s portfolio (samples of work, anecdotal notes, photos, etc.) is used in goal setting and lesson planning by staff.
